John Davis
It is with great sadness that I have to advise you that PAC member John Davis passed away suddenly on Thursday 15th November 2012 aged 60 years. Some of us had the pleasure of sharing a couple of days fishing with John recently and he also travelled with us up to Harrogate for the annual PAC convention in September. John was just getting back into his pike fishing having only retired from the NHS back in March, where he worked in stem cell research. Those that were at last weeks meeting had the chance to sign a sympathy card and this has now been sent to his wife Jenny and family. John's funeral takes place on Tuesday 27th November at 3.15pm at Oxford Crematorium, and afterwards at The Talkhouse, all are welcome. He was a gentleman with a quirky outlook on most things and always made me chuckle, his untimely passing has been quite a shock and our condolences to his wife Jenny and family are sent at this sad time.
It is mine and Mark's intention to have an annual fish-in dedicated in John's memory. RIP John.  


Fish-In
Our next fish-in takes place on Sunday 9th December 2012 at Orchid Lakes, Dorchester-On-Thames, Oxford. At last season's fish-in at this venue some 60 pike were caught up to 21lb and it is very rarely pike fished so it is really worth making the effort to attend. We must have at least 20 anglers for this event to secure the venue (we currently have 10). Cost is £20 and up to 3 rods can be used.
