Julian Chidgey
At our next meeting on Thursday 21st October we welcome the current Drennan Cup holder Julian Chidgey as our guest speaker. The Devon based Korum consultant fishes a number of Oxfordshire venues and will give a talk on specimen piking and his Drennan Cup campaign.
I am particularly looking forwarding to hearing Julian’s thoughts and practices regarding pre-baiting for pike.
Julian is a very successful all rounder with numerous big pike including two 30lb+ specimens as well as tench to over 11lb and carp to over 45lb. Julian puts into practice some very interesting and innovative methods which have helped him become one of the most successful anglers in the country.

These meetings will be held at The Red Lion pub, Eynsham OX29 4HW, starting at 7.30pm so please put these dates in your diary and support these as they are key to the group developing. £3 PAC members and £4 non PAC members - on the door.
Posters have been posted to all regional tackle shops, I would be grateful if you can check that these are being displayed, If you or your local tackle shops have any donations for the raffle then this would be much appreciated.
Regional News
It was agreed at our last meeting to run two trophies this season, one for biggest river pike and one for biggest still water pike and these trophies will be purchased during the season. I will start to arrange a couple of social fish-ins over the next 3-4 months, including one on Blenhiem Palace. More details to follow.
Catch Reports
If you want to share your catches with your fellow regional members then let me know and send in any photos so we can have a regional gallery on the blogspot. I have not yet received any catch reports during October, clearly the details given is down to the individual but captures should be reported the month they are made to be entered into the trophy competition so that updates can be given.
Finally, please let me know of anyone you wanted added to the distribution list. I still need emails addresses for a number of PAC members living in the region.
